TRAVEL PLANS
Conn-Selmer Institute 2009’s event registration will be from 12 Noon to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 7. “Dr. Tim” Lautzenheiser and staff will then kick off the first session at 3:00 p.m. If you are traveling a long distance and must arrive on Saturday, you will need to make housing arrangements for the night of June 6th.

ATTENTION AIRPLANE AND TRAIN TRAVELERS: Conn-Selmer Institute will NOT provide transportation between the South Bend Regional Airport http://www.sbnair.com/ and the University of Notre Dame for our airplane and train travelers. There are many taxi’s outside the airport for your convenience. If you are flying into O’Hare or Midway we recommend you look at the Coach USA bus company for transportation as they have a stop directly on the Notre Dame campus. http://www.coachusa.com/tristateunitedlimo/

Don’t forget we are on Eastern time and Chicago is on Central time, so you will be losing and hour crossing into Indiana, but gaining an hour when you return to the airport.

WEATHER: Early June tends to bring warm, humid conditions to South Bend; however, you will be in air conditioning most of the day. Attire is business casual. Make sure that you bring pens and a notebook for notes, ideas and thoughts during CSI. You will find it extremely beneficial. Also, you may want to bring a baton and a recently performed score in order to fully participate in Professor Crider’s sessions. Factory Tour Participants: Due to strict safety regulations, all those going through the factories must have shoes with closed toes. Sandals, including flip-flops, are not acceptable. They will restrict you from the tour. Also, because of the extended walking, you will want to wear comfortable shoes.

Dorm Residents: Notre Dame will provide the following for all dorm residents:
• Sheets
• Pillow
• Pillow case
• “Spa towel” (Apparently, this is a small towel. Participants may want to pack a larger one.)

You will be able to check into your dorms starting at 3 PM on Sunday, June 7th. The dorms will not be open earlier, so plan on “holding” your luggage and instruments at McKenna Hall until AFTER the opening session.

Please be sure to bring an alarm clock, shower gear, and shower sandals. The dorms are air-conditioned, so if you have a tendency to feel cold, you may wish to bring an extra blanket.

IMPORTANT: You will be leaving CSI with a large amount of great material. If you are flying, be sure to save room in your suitcase for this new library of valuable information.
